Technical Committee

Transport economist, since 1998 he has been director of the research sector of ISFORT - Advanced Institute of Education and Research for Transport.

He deals with scenarios of the demand for mobility, local public transport, sustainable mobility policies in particular at the urban scale, participatory processes. In Isfort he is in charge of the "Audimob" Observatory on Italians’ mobility styles and behaviors, active since 2000, and of the Observatory on Sustainable Urban Mobility Policies - OPMUS, active since 2005. He coordinates the drafting of the Isfort annual report on the Italians mobility of (18 editions published from 2004 to 2021).


Overall, he has directed about 200 research projects in transport and mobility, commissioned by public administrations (Regions, Provinces, Metropolitan cities, Municipalities, Agencies), public and private companies (in particular public transport companies), trade representatives (associations sectoral and territorial businesses, trade unions), international entities. He has participated as a speaker at over 150 conferences and seminars.
Responsible for numerous scientific contributions and publications of Isfort, he is the author of articles and essays for specialized journals in the professional fields of interest.


He teaches at the Master in Management of Local Public Transport, of which he is also a member of the Scientific Committee, at “Sapienza” University of Rome, at the Master in Antitrust and Market Regulation and at the Master in Logistics and Transport both at the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome.


He is a member of the Scientific Committee of Legambiente.


He has also gained a long experience as an economic and social researcher, with specific attention to issues of territorial development and business systems. From 1991 to 1995 he directed the “Local development and economic processes” sector of the Fondazione Censis.
