Mr. Quinzi is currently the Secretary-General of the newly established Ministry of Tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism was set up by Mr. Draghi’s cabinet as a Ministry with a portfolio after more than twenty years, thus giving it an autonomous dignity. Mr. Quinzi was therefore called by Minister Garavaglia to organize the ministerial start-up in a particularly difficult situation for the tourism sector, of great importance for the Italian national economy and that was so hard hit by the current pandemic crisis.

He is one of the senior General Directors of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In his managerial career, he can boast of having carried out all administrative functions, from operational management to control and monitoring activities, working in Ministerial Offices throughout various constitutional terms.

His public career started in the Ministry of Public Works where he held important leadership positions, performing at the same time the functions of General Director for Road, railway, port and airport infrastructures.

He focused for years on public water’s management, a sector in which he was considered among the leading experts in Italy, and for which he had been appointed as expert member of the High Council of Public Works.

He made an important contribution in the development of the first community Framework Directive on public award procedure.

He is also the author of several publications on public works issues and an expert on the subject of administrative law.

He is a passionate cyclist, a sport that he has played since he was ten years old, having tried his hand at all competitive and amateur levels and which he continues to practice covering about 15,000 km a year.
