New technologies and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) are playing an increasingly important role in the national and international debate on the future of mobility, especially for developing new solutions in the country's inner areas, villages, and rural or mountainous regions. In particular, this session will address mobility challenges in villages, proposing possible solutions and new opportunities, emphasizing the importance of data monitoring and collection (MaaS4RER Project, Dozza PolisEye, and other pilot experiences). The acronym MaaS describes a new way of moving that prioritizes the citizen's ability to choose the most suitable means of transport based on the route to be taken, integrating various types of mobility (car, train, bus, tram, bicycle, etc.) and thus fully aligning with the shared mobility paradigm. These services operate through platforms that enable users to plan, book, and manage multimodal trips, as well as perform unified payment for services.
